Tidy Towns competition
Kilrush was awarded its silver medal award for the second year running in the 2006 National Tidy Towns Competition, achieving 282 marks out of 400 marks an impressive 15 point increase on the marks for 2005. The news was greeted with joy and pride in Kilrush.
Kilrush received glowing feedback from the adjudicators. The judges commented on the positive overall developmental approach and on the active partnerships in the town between the Tidy Towns committee, Kilrush Town Council, FAS, the Kilrush Chamber of Commerce, local sponsor SuperValu, the schools and the community at large.
The challenge now presenting itself to the local Tidy Towns Committee and the entire community is to go for gold!
