St. Patrick’s Day in Kilrush

The 2011 St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place in Kilrush on Thursday 17th March commencing at 3pm.  The theme for this year’s parade is “Reeling Back the Years” and prizes will be given to those participating who provide the most inventive and colourful displays under the following categories:

  • Vintage Cars
  • Dog Show (Fancy Dress)
  • Business Floats
  • Clubs / Parish Floats
  • National and Secondary Schools

Participants are asked to register and assemble in the town centre at 2pm.

In addition to the traditional Parade taking place, this year will see the people of Kilrush attempt to get into the Guinness World Records for having the most St. Patrick’s present in one place.

A 5k fun walk/run will commence at 1:30pm where each participant will be given a St. Patricks costume to wear.

Participants will assemle in costume at 1:00p.m. in the Market Square before heading off on the fundraising fun walk/run around the scenic town of Kilrush.
